Sinonasal Masses/Cancer

What are the symptoms?
  • Unilateral (single sided) nasal obstruction
  • Unilateral facial pain or numbness
What’s going on behind the scenes?
Benign and malignant (cancerous) growths sometimes affect the sinuses. This is a rare cause of sinonasal problems. Exposures to wood dust, nickel dust, mustard gas, and certain chemicals can increase the chances of developing a cancerous sinus growth. Those working in carpentry and textile making are at particular risk.
How Tucson ENT can help
Typical workup would include endoscopic examination of the nose and CT scan or MRI. Masses in the nose usually require surgical removal. We can discuss a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.
